So I think I’ve gotten over worst of this pretty nasty cold. I was mostly unconscious the last couple days. When I wasn’t I was fevered, sweating. I was wracked with coughing, and my whole body just hurt.
The worst part is none of it was a good pain.
The Addams Family, (specifically Gomez and Morticia) is a such a delightful example of how nasty can be nice, but I’m remembering that just cause I’d like to find myself lashed to the rack, doesn’t mean I find everything painful pleasurable.
Obviously.
I also enjoy many things that have nothing to do with BDSM at all. I thought maybe I could share something that made me feel better this week.

Though, now that I think of it Miss Piggy is definitely a Domme.
Think about it: confident, commanding, never lets anyone tell her what to do, and she really packs a punch.
Now you mention it, Gomez and Morticia Addams are the only couple in pop culture ( that I can think of, anyway) that are kinkily inclined and portrayed in a positive way. They’re one of my favourite couples ever because of the way they completely adore each other and are kinky. It’s played for quirky laughs in the movies, but it’s better that than the beedeeesemmers who are all psychos/murderers/victims of abuse which seems such a popular angle for crime dramas in particular. Hope you’re feeling better as well!
It is all played for laughs though, They are straight up one of the most affectionate on screen couples, but that’s simply necessary to sell the “horrible” things they want to do to each other as their creepy and kooky version of love. I like them well enough, but since it’s being played for laughs I wouldn’t call it a “positive” portrayal of BDSM. I don’t think anyone who isn’t interested in a bit of pain with their pleasure is going to look at Gomez and Morticia and decide to break out the whips and chains.
